It’s November and to say I’m super excited about Christmas would be quite the understatement. I love Christmas for so many reasons… the decorations, the food, the gift wrap… and of course it’s the perfect excuse to get a little dressed up! There’s nothing quite like making that extra special effort at Christmastime, getting a bit glammed up and really bringing that Christmas cheer. Seeing as I’m in such a Christmassy spirit, I thought it would be fun to do a little post with a few different outfits I plan to wear over the festive season.
Today’s post is all about Hygge at Christmas. If you haven’t yet heard about Hygge (pronounced hue-guh) it’s a Danish term “for finding happiness in the little things in life”. After seeing this concept popping up across social media for the last 6 months or so, when I saw this book, Hygge: the Danish Art to Happiness it was an instant must-buy. Hygge has the best concepts surrounding it, all about the cozy moments and feelings of togetherness and finding your happiness from these. It seems to be a main reason for Denmark being the happiest nation on Earth.
Today’s post is basically just me raving about how much I love the Zoella Hungry Hands hand cream. The minute I saw Zoella had released a GINGERBREAD scented hand cream I just knew this would be a festive must. Gingerbread has got to be one of my absolute favourite things about this time of year and the idea of having my hands smell of it was too much to resist.
Dulce de Leche is a beautifully sweet, creamy caramel flavour spread/sauce that makes the perfect addition to a bowl of ice cream. It’s also really simple to make and a great gift at Christmastime. Just pick a couple of pretty jars, fill with this gorgeous sauce and adorn with some pretty ribbon for that perfectly understated look.
I think December has got to be my favourite month. Not much can beat Christmastime for me and I just adore the festive lead up to the holiday. For today’s blogmas post I thought I’d write a little list of the stuff I love to do in my favourite month.
Little known fact: I love a Christmas window. One of my favourite things to do in December is wander around London looking at all the wonderful displays. This year Selfridges really grabbed my attention with their Disco Santa. He just looks like he’s having the best time and was a nice spin on the usual Father Christmas we’re used to seeing.
There’s nothing like something a bit boozy at Christmas time and this Spiced Pomegranate Gin is the perfect drink to warm you up! The original recipe for this can be found here and you need to make sure you make this at least two weeks in advance to ensure the gin absorbs all the Christmassy flavours.
