I’m starting to try and eat a bit healthier and I’ve been increasingly seeing images of delicious looking smoothie bowls creeping up across my Instagram feed. One of my worst habits is not having any breakfast so I thought I’d try and dip my toe into smoothie bowl land.
Dulce de Leche is a beautifully sweet, creamy caramel flavour spread/sauce that makes the perfect addition to a bowl of ice cream. It’s also really simple to make and a great gift at Christmastime. Just pick a couple of pretty jars, fill with this gorgeous sauce and adorn with some pretty ribbon for that perfectly understated look.
There’s nothing like something a bit boozy at Christmas time and this Spiced Pomegranate Gin is the perfect drink to warm you up! The original recipe for this can be found here and you need to make sure you make this at least two weeks in advance to ensure the gin absorbs all the Christmassy flavours.
Another perfect homemade Christmas gift, I cannot get enough of honeycomb at Christmas time. It’s super easy to make and only uses 3 ingredients you’ll already have in your store cupboard (probably!) You can make it as a great addition to a hamper, as an individual gift or just for munching on whilst snuggled in front of your favourite Christmas movie.
Today I want to share a delicious Peanut Butter Fudge Recipe that is perfect for holiday gifting. It’s so easy to make and stores really well for a yummy and thoughtful homemade gift.I scribbled this down from a copy of Waitrose Kitchen a few years back and I just love making this at Christmas time as it’s so deliciously moorish and comforting. It’s also super easy which makes it great for when you may have left things a bit last minute! Obviously, you can always just make it as a gift for yourself…
There’s been lots of baking going on at home this week, as it’s finally getting darker and that bit more chilly. I don’t know if this is particularly traditionally autumnal, but I do tend to drink more coffee at this time of year so it is for me at least! So, I thought I’d share this Coffee & Walnut Cupcake recipe with you, which is adapted from here.
My next Autumn favourite is my Oatmeal & Raisin Cookies because they’ve got all those warm autumnal flavours without being overpowering. These are just so great for whipping up in a hurry and keeping stored away in a tin for an unexpected guests that pop by. Their rustic nature also really lends itself to autumn… I feel nothing ever looks properly finished in autumn time. Maybe that’s just me. Anyway, recipe for these is below!
