L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask Review

It’s been a crazy couple of months for me and with wedding planning started to get into full swing I thought it might be time to really start trying to look after my skin. I already have a great skincare routine I love, but I wanted to try a few of the things I’d been putting off and one of these was trying out a face mask for the first time. I know, I know, that’s crazy… but for some reason I had it in my head that using face masks would bring me out in spots. In all fairness this isn’t 100% untrue.

Like me I’m sure you’ve seen the L’Oreal Pure Clay Facial Masks all over Instagram last year and I’d seen nothing but glowing reviews for them. The price point also seemed perfect for a first try so I decided to grab the Detox Mask and try it out (£5.99 on offer, £7.99 RRP).

To put it simply, I love it. I now religiously use it a couple of times a week and I find the pot last so much longer than the 10 uses it states on the packaging. You leave the mask on for 5-10 minutes while it dries, wash it off and hey-presto you have softer, cleaner skin! After my first couple of uses I did have a few breakouts so I wouldn’t recommend using right before a big event, but I found this quickly cleared up and have no issues now that I use it regularly. I was pretty horrified by all the visible oil that appeared on my first use to be honest and have to say I find the whole thing oddly satisfying.

The mask itself uses a combination of 3 pure clays which is then combined with charcoal to help draw out the impurities. It cleanses deep into the pores and leaves my skin looking so much fresher. I still haven’t tried the other 2 masks in this range but they’re high on the wish list as I really want to try them out as part of the multi-masking technique used in all of the advertising. If I do, I’ll make sure to let you know how it goes!
