If you follow me on Instagram you probably already know that I was invited to a Benefit Cosmetics event on 27th March in Brighton. I was so excited when I received the email as I love Benefit Cosmetics so a chance to go along to an event of theirs was a bit of a dream come true. The invite promised talks from the lovely Lola Hoad and Tashie Tinks, as well as lots of bubbles and an appearance by the gorgeous BrowMobile… and it certainly didn’t disappoint! I didn’t know anybody else going to the event but I do find this forces you to talk to people and I met some really lovely girls. (I did also realise afterwards that I already followed a few of the people I saw around but didn’t chat to #oops)
One Girl Band is an amazing studio space in Brighton run by the lovely Lola Hoad and her talk on making it as a small business owner was really inspiring. As a graphic designer it was great to hear someone talk so passionately about their craft and how to make a real go of it. I was also really excited to hear that they run brush lettering courses, which I’ve been wanting to try again since finishing University and hope to sign up for one of these in the future. Tashie Tinks also did a really great Q&A about her experiences since starting youtube and chatting to her afterwards was really lovely.
As promised, the Browmobile showed up and it did not disappoint. I feel like I need one of these in my life everyday. Not only is it a beautiful bold pink that must definitely turn a head or two, inside it is chockablock with everything you could ever need for the perfect brow. I’m already a big fan of ka-BROW! but having seen the magic the other products can work I might just have to pick up a few more things from the range.
One top of an amazing evening and all the pink champagne I could drink I got to go away with a goodie bag filled with loads of exciting treats. First was a greetings card by Lola Hoad (LH Design) who I mentioned earlier and this really made me smile. I also received a they’re Real! mascara, BeneBalm, the POREfessional: License to Blot and Angled Brow Brush & Spoolie. I popped these in my bag this week and have loved using the BeneBalm to hydrate my lips but still add a hint of colour to them.
The POREfessional: License to Blot has been been a really great addition to my morning routine and I really noticed a difference when used on a rogue spot that had appeared. I’ve tried out the Angled Brow Brush with my ka-BROW! eyebrow cream and it’s really helped having a longer handle for doing this. The real winner here though is the spoolie brush which is amazing for evening out the colour and making my brows look more natural.
Last but not least, we also had the chance to personalise a pair of Benefit tweezers whilst at the event so I chose to add my initials (although I didn’t really think this through as they’ll be changing next year!) I really really love these, not only because of this nice little touch but they’re also really precise and some of the best tweezers I’ve used. I love the addition of an eyebrow brush on the end as well as I’m always losing things so the more things I can do with one product the better!
I had such a great time at this event and met some really lovely people so a massive thank you to Benefit Cosmetics for the invitation!
Hope you enjoyed reading this, let me know your favourite Benefit product in the comments!
